Letter logo maker
One letter, done well. Pick the letter that starts your name, give it a typeface and a shape, and get an icon that stays sharp from app store tile to browser tab.
What makes a single-letter logo work
With only one character, small differences matter. A letter logo is recognised by its silhouette: the overall shape of letter and container together. That is why the most famous examples use either a very bold letter or a custom-looking one.
- Weight wins at small sizes. Thin letters vanish at 32 pixels. Choose a bold or black weight.
- Filled containers read better on busy backgrounds. An outline ring can get lost on a photo; a solid circle doesn't.
- Lowercase can be friendlier. Try the case switch: a lowercase “a” or “g” often has more personality than a capital.

Questions people ask
What is a letter logo?
A logo built from a single letter, usually the brand's initial. Think of McDonald's golden M, Netflix's N icon or Facebook's f. One letter is simple enough to work at any size, which makes it a strong app icon.
When should I use a single-letter logo?
When you need a compact icon alongside your full name, for app icons, favicons and social profiles, or when your name is long. On its own it says little to new customers, so use it with a wordmark at first.
How do I make a letter logo stand out?
Give it a distinctive container and a typeface with a memorable shape. Heavy fonts with unusual details (Bricolage Grotesque, Abril Fatface) or a script letter in a solid circle are more ownable than a plain sans in a square.
Is the letter logo free to download?
Yes. SVG, transparent PNG and square social icons are free with no account.
