BrandForge is designed with privacy as a core principle. We follow a local-first approach where your creative work stays in your browser. We collect minimal data and are transparent about what we do collect.

Data We Store Locally (In Your Browser)

The following data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB and never sent to our servers:

• Your logo designs (canvas state, layers, colors, fonts, positions)
• User preferences (color choices, favorite fonts, saved palettes)
• Design history and auto-saves
• Saved business name suggestions and bookmarked templates

You are in control: This data remains on your device and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings or by clearing your browsing data.

AI Features & Data Processing

When you use AI-powered features (logo generation, business name suggestions), we send your input to our AI provider through the Vercel AI Gateway:

• What we send: Business name, industry selection, and style preferences
• Provider: OpenAI via Vercel AI Gateway (model: gpt-5-nano)
• Purpose: Generate logo concepts and business name suggestions
• Retention: Requests are processed in real-time and not stored by us. Refer to OpenAI's privacy policy for their data handling practices.

AI processing is stateless—we don't keep records of your requests after generation is complete.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. This analytics service:

• Does not use cookies
• Does not track you across websites
• Collects anonymized page views and basic usage statistics
• Does not collect personally identifiable information

Share URLs

When you share a logo design, we generate a URL with your design encoded in the parameters. This URL can be shared with others to view your exact design:

• Design data is encoded in the URL itself (not stored on our servers)
• Anyone with the link can view the design
• No server-side storage or database required

Domain Availability Checking

When you check domain availability in the Business Name Generator, we query public domain registration APIs on your behalf. The domain names you check are sent to these third-party services to determine availability status.

No User Accounts

BrandForge does not require user accounts for basic usage. We do not collect:

• Email addresses
• Passwords
• Personal identification information
• Payment information (handled by third-party payment processors if applicable)

Your Rights

Since we don't store your personal data on our servers, you maintain full control:

• Clear browser data anytime to remove all locally stored designs and preferences
• No account deletion necessary (we don't have accounts)
• Export your designs at any time
